Test your note reading skills with the following musical flash cards.

There are only seven note names used for the entire grand staff. They are the letters A, B, C, D, E, F and G. As you move upward from a line to the next space or from a space to the next line, the notes simply move one letter at a time. When you run out of notes, you start over. For instance, the bottom line on the grand staff is G, so the space above it is A, the line above that is B and so forth. You can even add spaces and little lines (called "ledger lines") above and below a staff, with the note names continuing in the same fashion.
